Rediscovering Ayurveda
Rediscovering Ayurveda is Amrutam`s series of blogs which will include various men and women and their ideas about Ayurveda. Even though, India is the birthplace of Ayurveda, with passing time it has lost its original importance as a school of life amongst Indians and many a time have been limited to be referred as a school of medicine. Ayurveda is surely much more than that.
So, we at Amrutam decided to go out and find what Ayurveda means to people in the present day.
This is the first article in Amrutam`s series of articles which aims to understand the idea or perception that modern-day men and women carry about Ayurveda.
Rediscovering Ayurveda with Kriti Bagga
Kriti (@mystic.light) is an Ayurveda Enthusiast. She loves Yoga and Reiki, also at the same time.
How did you come to know about the school of Ayurveda?
Kriti resides in Gurgaon and alternative healing methods are a major part of who she is now.
It is through Kriti`s personal experiences that Kriti discovered the healing power of Ayurveda and Yoga.
“A few years ago I was suffering from a chronic illness and mainstream medicines just made it worse.
I started getting depressed as I wasn’t getting better. That’s when I turned to Ayurveda, Yoga, and Meditation for healing. The fact that many people go through what I did and they could benefit from these teachings is the reason I decided to study Ayurveda. Also, for my self-awareness.
No one on the outside can know what is happening in your body.
Being aware that what can cause an imbalance and how to correct it or see a manifestation of a disease beforehand can help us control the disease without medication, just by knowing our body.”
Ayurveda, Yoga, and Reiki together have empowered Kriti to become more self-aware and to connect with nature.
What do you love about Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a way of living and for every individual, there is something that they love about it. For Kriti, it is the calmness.
“What I love about healthy living and Ayurveda is the calmness and control over the mind.”
Kriti talks about how Ayurveda helps one “to prevent a disease before it manifests. The fact that it (Ayurveda) acknowledges that everybody is different and the same remedy doesn’t work for everyone creates self-awareness.”
Kriti believes that every human being is unique and thereby, there is no one medicine for everyone.
What are your favorite Healthy Habits?
Kriti`s Instagram feed displays beautifully the ayurvedic ways of staying healthy.
Here is what Kriti has to say about Healthy Habits:
“My Favourite healthy habits are oil pulling, drinking only warm milk, having saunf after my meals because I am of Vata (Prakriti), having dinner at 7 P.M. so that the food gets enough time to digest before sleeping and the body and mind feel fresh in the morning. Meditating as soon as I wake up is also a habit I’ve cultivated over the last few years.”
How do you think that awareness about Ayurveda can be increased?
Ayurveda as a school of life is being practiced by many, here is what Kriti thinks how awareness can be generated about Ayurveda as a School of Life.
“The awareness can be increased by practicing Ayurveda yourself and setting an example.
She feels “everything has emotions; your actions, aura, and energy speak louder than words. Its how you conduct yourself and how you live and how you make people feel inspires them more than what you say or tell people to do.”
For Kriti Ayurveda is a way of getting closer to your own self, to your inner-self.
We Thank you, Kriti for being a part of Amrutam Family.
